The mission of the Constitution Party is to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity thorough the election, at all levels of government, of Constitution Party candidates who will uphold the principles of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the Untied States. nj CONSTITUTION PARTy State Convention

The Constitution Party of New Jersey held a convention meeting on February 2, 2008 in Woodbridge N.J.. Present at the meeting was Jim Clymer, National Chairman of the Constitution Party, and Dr. Jerome Corsi, a nationally acclaimed author and lecturer. Dr. Corsi, the keynote speaker at the meeting, is the co-author of the New York Times Bestseller Unfit for Command, and the author of The Late Great USA. Dr. Corsi, a member of the Constitution Party, spoke about the effects of NAFTA and the coming dangers to American sovereignty by corporate and political leaders who are working to create a North American Union (NAU).  The NAU refers to a merger of the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Constitution Party National Chairman Jim Clymer spoke about the differences between the Constitution Party (CP) and the “big box parties." He referred to the fact that the CP is the third largest political party in the US with approximately 400,000 registered voters nationwide. He also said “We have principles in our platform and have people committed to it," unlike many of the “big box” politicians who don’t even follow through on their own party's platform or their own promises. Clymer also quoted the French writer Alexis de Tocqueville, who after visiting America in 1831 said, "Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits flame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power. America is great because America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great!". Clymer also spoke about the current economic recession and forecasted that it would be deep and tumultuous. The forthcoming hardships for our country may serve as a sobering reminder that the Democrats and Republicans have purposely led the American people astray.

New Jersey County Coordinators,Now is the time! 10/11/07

Our state is tough.  Our voters seem to embrace corruption, entitlements, and knee-jerk reactions to every idea that comes into the mind of those who want to take away freedom.

People all over America are beginning to realize that drastic change is needed.

We must identify NJ voters who also see this need.  Because you are one who sees the need,  I am sure you know others who do, also.

We need you, as a County Coordinator, to begin to actively organize these voters.  We need to encourage NJ people to run for local offices and be able to show local support for them.  We need to bring local support to ballot access petitioning.

Most of all, we need to give people who have given up on the political process hope!  Hope that their voices can be heard!  Hope that their ideas and values matter!

To do this, we need you to find them, county by county.

Cal Wortman and I, and other leaders from the Constitution Party National Committee stand ready to help you in any way you need.  We can attend and speak at your meetings.

We need to have a nucleus organization established in every county by the first of the year.  We have materials to help with an organizational meeting.    Just ask.

Please let Cal and/or me hear from you as to when you can put something together.  Large numbers are not the initial requirement.  Just getting something going is the first step.  Once you have something happening, others will join.

Here are some suggested resources:

Like The Results Of NAFTA? You'll LOVE The North American Union!

Coalition Urges President To “Tear Down The Wall Of Secrecy” At Quebec Merger Summit While U.S. Congressman Urges President To Build UP The Border Wall.

Lancaster, PA/ August 27, 2007 The recent Quebec Security and Prosperity Partnership  Summit held at Montebello, Quebec drew attention to a proposed merger of the U.S., Mexico and Canada. The event, attended by President George Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon drew hundreds opposed to the plan.

Former Director of the U.S. Office of Economic Opportunity and current Chairman of The Conservative Caucus and the Coalition to Block the North American Union, Howard Phillips addressed those gathered to oppose the SPP in Canada. Phillips said, “President Bush, tear down the wall of secrecy. Behind closed doors, step-by-step, the leaders (of the three nations) are setting the stage for…a North American Community and, ultimately a North American Union… (which means we would lose authority) over our economy, our judiciary and our lawmaking institutions”.

Phillips founded the Constitution Party  in 1992. The third largest party based on voter registration (Ballot Access News), the Constitution Party is the only political party with a resolution to oppose the SPP/NAU scheme as a threat to America’s constitutional government.

President Bush asked by a Fox News reporter for explicit denial of a plan to integrate the three countries, demurred and ridiculed opponents instead. Dr. Jerome Corsi, author of the New York Times bestseller "The Late Great U.S.A: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada" commented: "That’s exactly the same type of response Europeans got from their leaders, even as the EU noose was tightening around the necks of the millions who wanted nothing to do with a European super-state".

During the SPP Summit in Quebec, where Bush was called on to “tear down the wall of secrecy” surrounding the covert merger, a United States Congressman was calling on the president to build a wall to secure our  border with Mexico.  While the president was in Canada denying a plan to integrate North America, California Congressman Duncan Hunter delivered a letter to Bush saying, "It is my understanding that approximately $800 million is currently available for (fence building). Despite this funding, only 17.9 of the 854 miles of fencing called for in the Secure Fence Act have been completed as of Aug. 10, 2007."

The Constitution Party joins Congressman Hunter in calling for immediate efforts to complete a wall at our southern border and joins with those opposed to the SPP/NAU calling for a tearing down of the wall of secrecy surrounding any plans to merge the United States, Mexico and Canada.

RESPONSIBILITY

by Charley Reese

If anyone doubts that the republic created by the U.S. Constitution is dead, he or she only has to watch the Republican presidential debates. Save for Dr. Ron Paul, all of the candidates believe a president can take the country to war on his own, though most concede it might be a good idea to "consult" attorneys and even Congress.

The Constitution, written by men more intelligent and better educated than today's crop of political duds, is quite clear. The president has no authority to take the country to war. The sole authority for declaring war rests 100 percent with Congress.

Naturally, if a shipload of pirates sailed up the Potomac and began shooting at the tourists, you wouldn't need a declaration to authorize returning fire. American troops defending themselves while under attack is not the issue. The issue is that if a president wants to take the country to war against another country, he must, as Franklin Roosevelt did after Pearl Harbor, ask Congress to make that decision.

The Founding Fathers, having suffered under a monarch, deliberately created a weak president. His powers, as specified by the Constitution, are limited mainly to administering the laws passed by Congress, making appointments, negotiating treaties and being the official greeter when dealing with foreign powers. His role as commander in chief is limited to just what it says – the military. The president is not our commander in chief, as the current president seems to think.

Lest anyone be beguiled by the current politicians' determination to create an emperor and an empire, even the president's appointments and treaties have to be confirmed by the Senate. Congress has sole authority over taxation and spending. Appropriations for the military are limited by the Constitution to two years. Furthermore, Congress is elected independently of the president and is a separate branch of government. It is under no obligation whatsoever to do anything the president asks it to do, and the president has no authority whatsoever to do anything not authorized by Congress and the Constitution.

The Constitution, which apparently not many Americans have ever bothered to read, is the supreme law of the land. It does not make suggestions. It commands. It was written in clear English. It has provisions to amend it, but it should never be amended by interpretation. That is always a usurpation of power and should be grounds for impeachment.

There is only one way for the U.S. to be a real nation of laws. That way is for the people to demand that every single public official obey the laws as they are written and obey them to the letter. The current president seems to think he can alter laws with "signing statements" and legislate with executive orders. He should have been impeached a long time ago.

The kernel of the nut is this: In our constitutional republic, sovereignty rests in the people. If the people are too stupid or ignorant, too lazy or indifferent, to hold their public officials accountable for violating the laws and the Constitution, then of course they will deserve the tyranny they will surely get.

Self-government is tremendously more difficult and demanding than living under a dictatorship. In a dictatorship, all you have to do is obey. I fear that concept appeals to some Americans today. It's understandable. Responsibility can be a heavy load to carry. It's much easier to relegate all of that to the Great Leader and just do what we are told.

Anybody who's ever been in the military or a jail knows what I'm talking about. When you are deprived of the ability to make choices, you are simultaneously relieved of the responsibility for making them. Responsibility is the other side of the coin of freedom.

Constitution Party Resolution in Opposition to the North American Union and the NAFTA Superhighway

Adopted by Constitution Party National Committee - Concord, New Hampshire, December 2, 2006

WHEREAS it is the strong belief of the Constitution Party National Committee that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) superhighway system or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Goode, Mr. Paul, Mr. Jones, and Mr. Tancredo introduced in the United States Congress a concurrent resolution entitled H.CON.RES.487 which, if passed, would express the opposition of Congress to the stated NAFTA Superhighway system, and North American Union. Therefore be it

Resolved, That the Constitution Party National Committee hereby expresses its strong support for H.CON.RES.487, said resolution is included with this resolution verbatim.

CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

Expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada;

Whereas, according to the Department of Commerce, United States trade deficits with Mexico and Canada have significantly widened since the implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA);

Whereas the economic and physical security of the United States is impaired by the potential loss of control of its borders attendant to the full operation of NAFTA; Whereas a NAFTA Superhighway System from the west coast of Mexico through the United States and into Canada has been suggested as part of a North American Union;

Whereas it would be particularly difficult for Americans to collect insurance from Mexican companies which employ Mexican drivers involved in accidents in the United States, which would increase the insurance rates for American drivers;

Whereas future unrestricted foreign trucking into the United States can pose a safety hazard due to inadequate maintenance and inspection, and can act collaterally as a conduit for the entry into the United States of illegal drugs, illegal human smuggling, and terrorist activities; and Whereas a NAFTA Superhighway System would be funded by foreign consortiums and controlled by foreign management, which threatens the sovereignty of the United States: Now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), That—

(1) the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System;

(2) the United States should not enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada; and

(3) the President should indicate strong opposition to these or any other proposals that threaten the sovereignty of the United States.

QUOTE OF NOTe

How can any party that refuses to secure our borders to stop the invasion of illegal aliens and that supports a "guest worker" (amnesty) program;  that has supported a series of trade agreements which have destroyed millions of jobs in American industry;  whose trade policies has given us the worst trade deficit in U.S. history; and that supports tax benefits and subsidies for corporations who move their factories out of the U.S. and who outsource their labor to foreign nations, ever be viewed as a party that represents the American worker?  The fact is that both of the "Big Box" Parties, Republican and Democrat, have been guilty of selling-out the American working people for many, many years! - Gary Odom
