The right to keep and bear arms
History
has repeatedly demonstrated that liberty is at risk when free citizens are
denied the ability to defend themselves against common criminals and political
tyrants.
The solution to violent crime is not to disarm law-abiding citizens, but for
state and local governments to vigorously prosecute and appropriately punish
violent criminals.
The
right to keep and bear arms is guaranteed by the Constitution and the Federal
government is expressly prohibited from infringing on that right in any way.
We as citizens therefore, should staunchly oppose all
attempts by the Federal government to prohibit or regulate gun ownership by
law-abiding citizens.
The most basic function of civil government is to prevent the shedding of innocent blood. The U.S. Constitution clearly states that no person may be deprived of life without due process of law.
The
unborn child is, without exception, a legal person from the moment of
fertilization. Only persons who have publicly, faithfully, and consistently
acknowledged the legal personhood of the unborn child, should be appointed to
the Federal Judiciary.
Eliminate federal taxes on families and businesses
Abraham
Lincoln's assertion was that it is better to put tariffs on foreign companies
and foreign products than taxes on American businesses and American workers.
Taxes on
income, capital gains, gifts, inheritance, and business activities will be
eliminated and replaced with tariffs on imported products, plus limited excises
on imported products, plus limited excises on nonessential goods and services.
These tax
reforms, coupled with the elimination of unconstitutional programs and
expenditures, will yield a budget surplus.
Social Security should be privatized, with beneficiaries receiving all the money they have been promised. No longer will American workers and employers be required to pay FICA taxes and no longer will one spouse have to support the government while the other is working to support the family.
